This isn’t a time to be distracted by shiny objects (utterance overheard on the fly at the bike trail?)

Crows while curious about glints in the grass, are not fooled.

Young crows may act, well, young, & appear to focus on shiny items,

but mature crows know what’s what.

When I heard a passing biker say

“this is no time to focus on shiny objects,”

it reminded me to focus: support wisdom,

give $ to them’s that’ll slow the hand of the unwise;

get the voters to the polls, be brave, speak truth to power.

Be like the crows.

More thoughts:

The shiny object gambit is used by Trump. His tweet storms distract us from his outrageous acts. But I think the American people are too smart to stay numbed and distracted. Our press is not fake but it has been too gullible. We’ve got to be laser-like. For instance, each time Trump attacks a bedrock environmental protection, that attack needs countering in the courts, in Congress, and beyond. (See EDF.org and NRDC.org: every 8 days the latter sues the Administration, thereby at least staying his destructive power.)

Trump may be “satisfied with the work product,” but raise your hand if you agree with the ruin of Earth? A 420 character, 9-liner

An offset?

Is there a possible stick to topple

the ruin-Earth-for-the-grandkids bicycle wheel

pedaled by the destructive Pruitt/Trump team

who apparently don’t realize the “P” in EPA is for PROTECT

not plunder & pollute?

Note to Huckabee-Sanders & the Koch brothers & Trump:

I. Do. NOT. “Like the work product” of this EPA pretender.

Readers: Join The Natural Resources Defense Council, a source of sticks for an offset.

NOTE: Already some sticks have at least derailed the bike somewhat. From New York Times 4/8:

Let’s label Earth an “Important Area” like the Important Bird Area designations for sites of outstanding value; do it for the Vermillion Flycatchers & our kids. (420 in 9 lines)

Spectacular: Vermillion Flycatcher!

A multi-syllabic name for a multi-gorgeous bird

who makes a shallow cup nest of twigs & soft matter,

lines it w/ hair & finishes it w/ lichen

where the high desert meets the mountains in Big Morongo Canyon.

I came upon a nest in the horizontal fork of a tree just off the trail.

Big Morango is designated an “IBA,” Important Bird Area.

This label will help the VF etc be.

Spectacular.
