140 character tweet: Cajun Navy doesn’t wait for help; they are the help, with their duck boats guided by social media in flooded Louisiana & its 2 feet of rain.
Somehow, and this is incredible since I don’t hold words of songs in my head (don’t worry this is not a sign of any early onset anything, leastways it wouldn’t be early anymore; I’ve always been this way even when I was little and Ruthie knew all the hit songs and tried to help me learn the lyrics), whew! As I was saying: Somehow I had snatches of what turned out to be a Jim Croce song in my head during the wedding in Israel. Sometimes the “if I could save time in a bottle” or sometimes just a tiny bit of the melody. Even under the hoopa! It’s taken a few weeks for my synapses ( and it’s a heavy lift: My brain has 100 billion neurons-each connected to 10,000 other neurons with 1000 trillion synaptic connections) to come through for me and hook up all the connections: “Time in a Bottle” by Jim Croce.
“If I could save time in a bottle, the first thing that I’d like to do, is to save every day ‘till eternity passes away, just to spend them with you. If I could make days last forever; if words could make wishes come true; I’d save every day like a treasure and then, again, I would spend them with you. If I had a box just for wishes, and dreams that had never come true; the box would be empty, except for the memory of how they were answered by you. But there never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do, once you find them. I’ve looked around enough to know that you’re the one I want to go through time with.”
My tweet repeated: # The melody for a song was in my head off and on as I got happier and happier at Doug and Taly’s wedding. It’s taken a while but this is it.
