We owe a lot to Guy Clark. The wells he has drilled will never go dry. He could write a song about lettuce and tomatoes and make it seem like Shakespeare.

Juxtapose images so as to effect an arresting shift in perspective? Stuff that’s real? Stuff that works? The kind of stuff you reach for when you fall?  Guy Clark’s way with words will stay with us even though he’s gone.
