Habits that I’m, well, in the habit of:
I consider that any spot I’m in has potential for discovery
even if it’s “only” the sidewalk in front of yoga;
so I think “this is a wilderness” & then wait
because I anticipate that something new will reveal itself;
I try to be brave & ask questions
even if such reveals my tank of ignorance.
Birding helped me develop these behaviors,
but living life every day hones the habits.
On the trellis outside my window these winter birds perched and pondered. I am so thankful for the habits they’ve instilled in me. A 420 character 9-line poem by Patty
