Where’re we going

I ask during the endless black hole of debates.

I try not to get sucked into despair,

but worry we’re on the edge of a big event horizon, as the star-gazers say.

But hark! A Stupefying Experiment yields a Stupefying Wonder?

Einstein’s theory of gravitational waves confirmed

by a collision a billion light years from me?

Maybe ripples from the early universe will give perspective on

where’re we going.
