Buffleheads demonstrate getting along with each other and with different species. A tiny creature with a long story. (420 character 9-liner by Patty)

Getting along

with the help of your friends is what the buoyant, large-headed,

tiny, but super-charged Bufflehead does:

They leave a sentinel on top

while the rest constantly & abruptly dive-bob at Folly Point.

In Spring they return to boreal forests

to nest in abandoned cavities of their metabiotic hosts,

the Northern Flicker, cavities too small for larger ducks to fit into.

Lessons for us humans for getting along?
