    1. What we notice (we being the parents who were so influenced by Jim Trelease’s first edition of The Read Aloud Handbook we put our TV in the closet for the rest of our child-bearing/rearing years, about 22 years all told) is that once the child’s attention span for listening is stretched s/he can sit and listen to just about anything. It’s clear to us that our kids, now parents themselves, are reading aloud similarly and their kids can attend for hours. Fun.
