WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: ORANGE

What’s not to love about orange? It’s vibrant. It’s cheerful. It makes a statement. It’s the *perfect punctuation for a punchy photo.

WP blogger Michelle W likes orange and *alliteration. Want to know more? Click on the photos.

Global warming doesn’t always mean warmer winters, but this is one winter whose time has come to “spread” its “tiny wings and fly away” (Anne Murray) since it’s leading the likes of Senator Inhofe to embarrass us around the globe by playing snowball in lieu of hardball, reinforcing for me that he’s no Arctic Specialist, which makes me look twice at two Real Arctic Specialists: (a 420 character, 9-line poem)

PLAY THIS YOUTUBE WHILE READING AND STUDYING THE SKETCH AND PHOTO OF ARCTIC SPECIALISTS. SENATOR INHOFE? TAKE NOTE!!

(a Patty sketch)

Arctic specialist is how I describe myself:

@ -4 degrees I’m like a Snow Bunting nestling:

buried in my Patagonia knee-length coat,

thick (625 fill) duck down, waterproof shell & hood, wind guard.

The Snow Bunting’s “Patagonia” nest made at -30 in the high Arctic

is an open cup of moss, lined with fine grasses,

rootlets,fur & feathers, buried in a crevice,

so as to be all set for a brief “summer.”

Arctic Specialist.
