Hover-Craft, as in the craft of hovering for Osprey and Secretary of State John Kerry (a 420 Character, 9 Line Poem by Patty)

Hovering needs different mechanisms than forward flapflap flight

& is a virtue and a skill, be ye an Osprey or John Kerry.

Both face into fierce headwinds to remain stationary*

relative to the ground or water,

both support 100% of their weight with their down stroke,

& both manage to stabilize their position

so as to keep their eyes on the prize, as it were,

be it prey for the former or peace

for the latter.

Hover on.

*Thomas Friedman calls John Kerry “relentless.” When I read this word, the Osprey flew into my mind, and I laughed out loud. Here I was reading with my eyes the NYTimes Op Ed page on which Thomas explains Secretary Kerry’s two big priorities and an image of the Osprey pops into my mind’s eye. Guess that’s an example of a knee-jerk juxtapose habit?
