Warbler Parent with Caterpillar in Mouth: eats part and then darts to the nest full of babies; reminds me of our Little Caesar tradition. (Another 420 Character Poem in 9 Lines)

Little Caesars Italian Cheese Bread

I get it,

the need to inhale food, fast.

Whomever agreed to come with me on the Little Caesar’s “run”

got to split one of the cheese bread bags on the drive back–no telling.

I think of this while I watch

a Black-Throated Green Warbler parent pause to gulpgulp HALF a Spruce Budworm caterpillar

before zooming to the nest to pop the rest into one of the gaping mouths.

Parents & power food. On the fly.

I get it.
